This 100% Single Limu is the crown jewel of FairChain Coffee. Grown in the exclusive coffee region of the Ethiopian highlands and roasted at origin in Addis Ababa, it is a bright, fruity and floral with notes of jasmine, bergamot and red berries. A very clean cup of coffee with lively acidity.

CROWN JEWEL

Our FairChain story began in Limmu, Ethiopia. This specialty coffee from the Kaffa region, the birthplace of coffee, has beautiful complex full aromas and flavors. She grows at extreme heights which results in a floral explosion. A fresh full-bodied coffee with a slightly fruity aftertaste of jasmine and cocoa. We slow-roast this coffee for 27 minutes at 197 degrees Celsius. Taste the floralness and citrus aromas!

MEET THE FARMERS

Moyee is in direct contact with more than 658 farmers who grow the cherries of the Single in Limu, Ethiopia. Coffee plants are at an altitude of more than 1,600 meters under the canopy of a natural coffee forest. From November until January, the ripe, red berries are picked by hand and processed at our own washing station.



MEET THE PROCESSING TEAM

Moyee has its own washing station in Limu. During the harvest, the FairChain farmers from the area bring their ripe, red berries here. The berries are washed and, for the best quality, dried slowly on the drying beds. To ensure our quality, the beans are then slowly dried on drying beds.

MEET THE COFFEE ROASTERS

After being processed, the green beans are roasted at our Ethiopian roastery. This creates jobs and leaves more value in the coffee-growing countries. The coffee is roasted for roughly 27 minutes, producing a syrup-like taste and cocoa aroma with undertones of jasmine and a slight caster sugar aftertaste.



MEET THE PACKAGER

Immediately after being roasted, the beans are 'nitro flushed', a process that removes the oxygen from the packaging to ensure your beans arrive fresh. Each package includes a Product Requirements Document (PRD), specifying the production date so you know exactly when your coffee was roasted.

BARISTA TIPS

This Single is an omni branding. It can be used for any brewing method, whether filter coffee or espresso. This also means you get the freedom to get different flavors out of the coffee! Of course we will help you with that. 

  • Best enjoyed as filter coffee (V60, Chemex, drip) due to its lighter and fresher profile.
  • Perfect for black coffee lovers
  • Use a coarser grind and lower extraction to avoid bitterness.
